Pre-season Report 2009-10

Mal Beynon of the W.R.U. was the guest speaker at Trinant R.F.C's annual dinner and presentation night and spoke about the future of the W.R.U. and the importance of the community game.  Head coach, John Way gave a résumé of the season and his outline for the coming season.  Retiring captain, Paul Lloyd gave an emotional speech that got some guests reaching for their serviettes.  Lloyd was being awarded his club cap for playing 250 games for the club over a period of fifteen seasons despite four knee operations which included cruciate ligament reconstruction that has plagued him throughout his senior career.  Also awarded his cap for 250 games was hooker, Craig Maddock. Other awards were won by Craig Foxwell, for most promising young player, Jason Leadbeater, most improved player, Adam Rogers, players player, Lyndon Lloyd, clubman of the year and Lee Jones, supporters player.  Chris Finch won the coaches award and was also named captain for next season and top try scorer was centre, Ryan Jones.  There will be a get together on Saturday 4th july at 12:00pm.  Official training starts on Tuesday the 7th July at 6-30pm, under head coach John Way supported by Paul Lloyd and Jason Lovell, all old and new players welcome.
